FLASHFORWARD: THE LAST DANCE OF FABRICE LIG
The final Flashforward of the year to properly celebrate the stage retirement of our resident DJ, Fabrice Lig! An exceptional evening to honor the co-creator of this unique concept at Rockerill, and also an ambassador for Charleroi on the international electronic music scene. For the occasion, Fabrice has invited the one and only Steve Rachmad and Vince Watson (live) for a pure techno night!
ARTISTS & PROGRAMMING
An organizer since the late 90s and a DJ for over 20 years, these are Globul's two great passions. His journey began in the late 70s with the discovery of artists like Pierre Henry, Marvin Gaye, but especially the enigmatic group Kraftwerk. The die was cast! This was followed by a passion for the entire new wave, punk, and industrial generation, through artists such as The Clash, Tuxedemoon, Grauzone, Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, and Neon Judgment. It was at this time that he began hosting numerous parties and working on several local radio shows. In the late 80s, he went to Spain where he held residencies at various clubs in San Sebastian and Santander. His sets are known for being varied and heavily influenced by disco, acid, tech, and Detroit sounds—an eclectic mix of old school and new school, deep tech, and tribal rhythms. His pleasure lies in being in total harmony with the audience through an original and non-linear playlist.
Through his mixes, CEDRIC transports his audience on a captivating musical journey, where beats become stopovers and melodies become destinations to explore.
A key figure in the Charleroi electronic music scene, he joined the roster of the legendary Rockerill in 2013. His beloved club, where he has the pleasure of being a resident DJ for the FlashForward nights, he has performed alongside legendary international artists such as Laurent Garnier, Ellen Allien, Dave Clarke, Luke Slater, Monika Kruse, Tiga, Etienne de Crécy, and others, including Tim Engelhardt, Tal Fussman, KiNK, Adana Twins, and Kollektiv Turmstrasse, to name just a few.
Whether solo or with his bands The Babel Orchestra and Between The Lines, he has always remained close to the public and never far from the turntables. Wherever he goes, from the Boiler Room in the Black Country to the Kitkatclub in Berlin, and at numerous events in between, he loves to set the dance floor on fire and make it vibrate!
Here or there, halfway between timeless classics and incandescent new releases, embark with this unpretentious music lover for a unique experience. A soulful blend of house and techno, enhanced with a touch of melodic deep house, sometimes Afrobeat: that's CEDRIC's recipe for taking you on a journey where you'll dance until you sweat!
The Scottish prince of techno is gracing us with his return to Charleroi for a live performance during Fabrice Lig's final residency. His label, Bio Music, has been praised by Carl Cox and Laurent Garnier, among others. The Detroit influence is evident in his various albums, including the highly acclaimed "Mystical Rhythm".
Steve Rachmad is a techno legend whose career spans nearly three decades. There's no need to list his labels, remixes, or festivals: his talent speaks for itself. Possessing an almost physical connection with every drum machine and synthesizer, he's renowned for the quality and depth of his sound. A producer and DJ with a unique style, he draws as much from current techno and house as from disco and vintage electro. To understand his impact, the best thing to do is listen to him: his music says it all.
