MASSACRÉS BELGES III : RELEASE PARTY!
Twenty years after the first two Massacrés Belges compilations, the cry returns — louder, freer, more incandescent.
This new edition brings together 22 acts from the most inventive fringes of the Belgian scene. On the program: MMUURR, Spout Big Space, Big Fat Lukum, and Radiator Pirelmans. The duo Punky Buster vs Evil Dick will be there to spice up the end of the evening! More than just a panorama, Volume 3 of Massacrés Belges celebrates two decades of sonic independence and artistic defiance.
Noise rock, punk, rock and roll, stoner, post-punk, free-rock, mutant jazz or deviant metal — each group extends a tradition of radical experimentation specific to Belgium, where the underground scene has never ceased to be a burning laboratory.
A true tribute to the vitality of a scene that constantly reinvents itself, Massacrés Belges (volume 3) captures a collective spirit: that of artists who continue, against all odds, to transform clamor into freedom.
The MB3 compilation will be offered to you upon entry.
The “Rocker'Elles” exhibition will be open this Saturday evening.
ARTISTS & PROGRAMMING
The band's name came from a typo. The 5 members of Spout Big Space live
Schaerbeek. Axel and Mathieu have known each other since kindergarten. Jacob and Max have
met in a musical comedy troupe. The group changed drummers several times, including an airline pilot, a European civil servant, a mover and a Macedonian percussionist.
Arnaud Guich is the newest member, playing saxophone. Axel's father is the doctor for most of the band members. Spout Big Space's music is a blend of Fidlar-esque garage punk, Fat White Family-style sonic experimentation, and bizarre, dark atmospheres; you'll find it somewhere between The Sonics and theatrical post-punk.
Not a breath... the city is bored. Having waited for nightfall, it languishes... within its walls, silence is noise. Then a murmur... a mechanical sound, heard in the distance: 'party, party'... they march on the city, a kinetic army, dragging it onto a frenetic dance floor. MMUURR loops its rock, mathematical loops. Carried by the momentum, electrons pass through these bodies, to whom movement gives life. For the duration of a murmur, the city is now intoxicated.
Big Fat Lukum is a trio with a stable lineup for ten years, one EP and two albums to their credit, drawing on stoner, psychedelic, post-metal, and progressive music.
Formidable on stage, the band has shared the bill with Peter Pan Speedrock, Big Business, Hangman’s Chair, and Black Rainbows. Their latest album, "Familial et Distingué" (Family and Distinguished), is guaranteed gluten-free and animal-friendly.
A free noise rock duo composed of Gil & Geo (Gunter Blast, Graffen Volder, Volt Voice, Swar, El Dinah,…). Sonic improvisations and explosive destruction since 2008 (extra ear-splitting warm-up). Created during a mini-tour with their respective bands Volt Voice and El Dinah, the duo will only play sporadically (mostly as happenings) until the recording in 2024 of their first self-produced album "Brise-Cadre".
13 tracks of raw, structured improvisations oscillating between noise, math, post-rock, influenced by groups like Shellac, The Jesus Lizard, Zu, Enablers...
