ARTISTS & PROGRAMMING
Formed in 2015, the Belgian band Lethvm operates within a heavy and tormented atmosphere, oscillating between devastation and candor. The four members draw their influences from the darkness of life, infusing it with beauty, rage, and melancholy.
LÊTUM i.n. Dead, defund, erosion, ruined, destruction.

BRIQUEVILLE is a band shrouded in mystery. On stage, they create an instrumental mantra of phantasmagorical guitars, altered recordings, and sampled vocals. These meditative constructions, based on the persistent element of repetition, are contrasted and torn apart by sudden and unpredictable bursts of pure gravity.
The black robes and gold masks that all the members wear on stage give their presence the air of an occult ritual... In fact, they've been wearing their masks for over 10 years, and even during rehearsals. The anonymity creates equality, prevents a cult of personality, and facilitates the exchange of band members without anyone noticing.
The members of BRIQUEVILLE were active in various other local jazz, electro and metal groups when they met more than 10 years ago in a school building with the ambition to improvise around a single note.
"In order to do this anonymously and for the public to focus on the music, we decided to play with masks," explains a member of the group. When they left the building after this session, they met an old man who told them the story of a son who had murdered his father right at the entrance of this school, many years ago. He produced a newspaper article to legitimize his story, before disappearing.
"This story stayed with us. We kept wondering why someone would keep an article about patricide in their wallets for seventy years. We wondered if the man we had met was the son. Maybe our imaginations were just working overtime, but the grandparents of one of our group members confirmed that the murder had happened... however, we were unable to find the old man."
